Award Programmes have been specifically developed to encourage student involvement across a wide range of Mercy activities, allowing students the opportunity to graduate with further accreditation from any Year level at Mercy Catholic College.
Blue and Gold Award
This programme will allow students to graduate from any Year level at Mercy Catholic College with an Blue and Gold Award.
The following criteria must be met and relevant signatures to prove this must be recorded in the Student Booklet/Journal.
Criteria | Based on a year’s commitment to the following: |
Co-curricular
Involvement |
Participated in at least one College based enrichment activity or represent the College in a Sport.
A minimum of 90% participation is expected for both Semesters. |
INTERNAL Social Justice
Involvement |
Assist in at least one College based social justice activity with
at least 90% participation expected for both Semesters. |
EXTERNAL Social Justice
Involvement |
Complete one wider external community involvement activity in which you volunteer
at least 50 hours of your time. *Please note: The 40 Famine is accepted but counts for only 4 hours of External Social Justice Involvement. |
If students have met the requirements at the end of a Year of education, then they will be eligible to be presented at Awards Night (or Graduation Night for Year 12) with a Blue and Gold Award and Badge.
Students can nominate themselves by writing their name on the Google Docs Form sent to all students at the start of the year by Mrs Margaret Kellendonk (margaret.kellendonk@dbb.catholic.edu.au)

Honour Programme
This programme will allow students to graduate from any Year level at Mercy Catholic College as an Honour Student.
The following criteria must be met and relevant signatures to prove this must be recorded in the Student Booklet/Journal.

Must consistently be in the top 10% of Year level in Semester 1 and Semester 2. |

Assist in at least one College based social justice activity with

Principal’s Task | Complete an individual research assignment or essay on a topic chosen by the Principal. |
If students have met the requirements at the end of a Year of education, then they will be eligible to be presented at Awards Night (or Graduation Night for Year 12) with an Honour Certificate and Badge.
