Oliver Twist – Production
Congratulations to everyone involved in the St Pius X College production of Oliver Twist directed by Penny Lindley. After helping out behind the scenes it was exciting to see how this fabulous production came together on the stage. I am incredibly proud of the Mercy girls who performed and those who were part of the crew.

Students insight
I had the privilege of being a part of the cast for St Pius X College’s production of Oliver Twist. We auditioned late last year and worked for 6 months before we performed last week from the 30th April – 2 May.
Actors ranged from Year 8 to Year 12, all with different skills and experience from either their Drama classes or previous plays. Some of the cast had previously been in St Pius’ last production The 39 Steps, including one of our Mercy girls. The production was a great success and a wonderful experience for people who enjoy Drama or are a part of a Drama elective.
Through participating in Oliver Twist, I met amazing people and have made friends from both Pius and Mercy. No matter what the role, we all got along and were able to watch each other grow in confidence and our acting skills.
The next production from Pius will be from the end of 2026 to early 2027 for those who would like to audition, and for those who would like to join Drama elective either for year 9 and 10 or in 11 and 12, I highly recommend it because it’s a great experience.
