Catholic Identity
Faith is at the heart of life at Mercy. We recognise parents and carers as the primary faith educators of their children and value the partnership between home, parish and school in nurturing each student’s spiritual growth.
Through Religious Education, prayer, reflection and meaningful experiences of community, students are encouraged to encounter God and develop a strong sense of purpose, responsibility and compassion for others.
Living the Mercy Tradition
The Mercy charism calls us to respond to the needs of our world with courage and compassion. Inspired by the example of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy, our students are encouraged to:
- Act with compassion and kindness
- Promote justice and human dignity
- Serve those most in need
- Build inclusive and welcoming communities
- Care for creation and the environment
These values shape our learning, relationships and daily life across the College.
Prayer, Liturgy and Worship
Prayer and liturgical celebration are central to our community.
Students actively participate in:
- College Masses and liturgies
- Prayer and reflection experiences
- Feast day celebrations
- Sacramental celebrations
- Parish events and gatherings
Faith in Action
At Mercy, faith is lived through action.
Students are provided with opportunities to put their faith into practice through:
- Social justice initiatives
- Fundraising and outreach programs
- Service-learning opportunities
- Advocacy for justice and human dignity
- Environmental and sustainability initiatives
These experiences help students develop a deep understanding of the Mercy call to serve others and contribute positively to society.
Retreats and Reflection
Retreats and Reflection Days provide valuable opportunities for students to step away from everyday routines, reflect on their lives and strengthen their relationship with God.
Together with programs such as CSYMA, these experiences support spiritual growth, leadership development and personal wellbeing, helping students explore their gifts and their capacity to make a difference.
Australasian Mercy Secondary Schools Association
A member of the Australasian Mercy Secondary Schools Association (AMSSA), a network of Mercy schools committed to fostering Mercy spirituality, values and educational excellence.
Through this association, students and staff have opportunities to connect with Mercy communities across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region. By sharing ideas, experiences and resources, Mercy educators work together to deepen understanding of the Mercy charism and strengthen its expression in contemporary education.
Our Chapel
At the heart of our College stands our Chapel, a sacred space that continues the mission of the Sisters of Mercy.
The Chapel provides a place for prayer, reflection and contemplation, welcoming all members of the College community to pause, connect with God and find moments of peace amid the busyness of daily life.
