Mercy Awards – Recognising Positive Behaviour and Achievement
At Mercy Catholic College, we believe in celebrating the effort, growth and contribution of every student. Our awards system recognises students who demonstrate our Mercy values in their daily lives and who actively contribute to the College community.
Students are recognised across three key areas:
Beacon Awards recognise students who consistently demonstrate the Mercy values through their learning, relationships, wellbeing, participation and conduct. Merits are awarded in the areas of:
- Excellence – commitment to learning, personal growth and participation in school life
- Integrity – honesty, responsibility and accountability
- Compassion – empathy, kindness and care for others
- Hospitality – inclusiveness, welcome and team spirit
- Respect – positive relationships and valuing the dignity of others
Mercy Spirit Awards celebrate students who show enthusiasm, dedication and active involvement in College life, including co-curricular activities, leadership opportunities and House participation.
Mercy Service Awards recognise students who generously serve others through formal service opportunities and demonstrate a commitment to living the Mercy tradition in action.
Our awards are cumulative, meaning every achievement contributes to a student’s overall recognition throughout her years at Mercy. Students can progress through a series of award levels, with each milestone acknowledging sustained commitment, personal growth and positive contribution to the College community.
The awards program encourages students to strive for personal excellence while recognising the positive impact they have on others. By celebrating achievement, character and service, we nurture young women who embody the values of Mercy and make meaningful contributions to their community.
At Mercy, we believe that recognising positive behaviour builds confidence, strengthens belonging and inspires every student to grow into the best version of herself.
