Congratulations to our Pixel Prize Winner
13 August 2009
Recently students from Mercy Catholic College were invited to participate in the Pixel Prize competition. This was a photographic competition run by the Australian Catholic University. The theme this year was UNITY. Students could enter a maximum of two photographs in any of the three categories: People, Place and Digital Darkroom. There were over 400 entries and from these 60 finalists were selected. Rachael Hetherington Year 11 entered two photographs and was excited to find out that both of them had been selected into the finals. Rachel attended the award ceremony on August 12th not knowing what to expect. You can only imagine how thrilled she was to be announced as the winner of the People category. For her efforts she received a Certificate and $200 in prize money. After receiving the award Rachel said participating in the Pixel Prize competition “was an extremely valuable experience”. Congratulations Rachael we are all very proud of you. Many thanks to Miss Gleeson for promoting this wonderful enrichment activity to our students.
